I would have written this place off if I never went inside. So, this place looks like your run of the mill Chinese restaurant, but it's actually not. They serve very authentic Taiwanese food, and it's delicious. When you walk in, they still have the classic Chinese menu items on the wall. . . They just don't sell them. The workers there are an older couple, so speed is not their high point. However, they are very polite and understanding. They also make some delicious food that is well worth the wait. The price is cheap too.I got the crispy chicken cutlet with Taiwanese sausage railroad bento box. The amount of food for that price was insane. Huge chicken cutlets, marinated boiled egg, veggies and the sausage all over white rice. It also came with a soup but I forgot about that and left it in my car for a few days. . .Bottom line, order ahead, find parking, and enjoy.

I saw this place had quite high reviews, was hungry so I tried this place out. I got the Crispy chicken and the Taiwanese railroad bento box with sausage like another reviewer wrote about. It is true the restaurant is handled by an old couple and not very good at English. I ordered on the phone at lunch so while the food was ready, had to wait on line. It's actually impressive how much food they prepare. There are no seating inside, purely just takeout. I was going to pay by credit card, but she said it will cost extra - or something, so I paid by cash.As for the food, the Crispy chicken tasted alright, but some parts of it were overcooked. The inside wasn't dry, just the outside a bit darker than it should be. The fried egg was overcooked and all brown. The sausage had this strange sweetish tangy flavor to it, but not for me. The portion size was a decent.A lot of people have said this isn't like your average Chinese restaurant, and it might not be, but to be honest, it felt quite average besides the extra Taiwanese dishes. It seems like a place to fill your stomach and good for locals who like the food. But the food is simply Ok, not a place to go out for a treat. I would recommend Great East instead

Order from Pearl Garden many many times over the years, Aunty (owner ) is a wonderful person, this establishment is truly person mama's and pop's restaurant but this review is the long over due. The menu is not the typical Chinese takeout, but the Taiwanese style, so don't expect chicken broccoli or beef and no fried rices, lol. Food is on point every time Delicious from their popular pork chop, chicken leg, fish chop, noodle, etc. Portion is a huge is like it was made for . There is always a soup, be exact a sweet and meat/ fish ball soup with all different kind vegetables added. They always change it up. Just got my fish today. Delicious

The amount of food for each bento box is amazing. Chickens are tender and fish fillets are crispy outside and tender inside. Great place to go if you are hungry.Make sure to call them first in order to to avoid waiting for more than minutes.
